Internet CrashStats TroubleShooting Guide

I can't get CrashStats to load as an applet

You must have a web browser capable of running JAVA 1.1 (Run Time Environment)
The recommended browsers are

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or greater
  • Netscape Navigator version 6.1 or greater

I am having trouble printing reports or maps from CrashStats.

All reports produced in CrashStats are in PDF format.

  • You must be running the minimum recommended browser. Click here for a list of recommended browsers
  • You must have Adobe Acrobat version 4 or greater installed.
When you choose a print option within CrashStats the report will be opened and displayed in a new browser window. Select Print or Save from the Acrobat menu to save or print the report.

Note that some large regional queries involve a high processing overhead on the server and may take several minutes to produce and download

I was able to print reports and maps but the PDF reports stopped loading in my web browser.

If you were able to print reports but the functionality stopped working there are a number of possible causes.

  • The main CrashStats Browser window must be visible to enable printing or saving of reports. If you have left the CrashStats Site, use your browser's "back" button to navigate back to the site.
  • There is a known problem caused if the Adobe Acrobat application is closed while Internet Explorer is open, causing an error in the IE adobe plug-in. If you were viewing another PDF report with the Adobe Acrobat application and you closed acrobat then you will need to re-start Internet Explorer.
Note that some large regional queries involve a high processing overhead on the server and may take several minutes to produce and download
